Good Anxiety tells the story of a young actor struggling to find an acting job and facing financial and emotional problems, all while trying to control his increasing anxiety disorder.

This is a Southern Methodist University (SMU) 9-min film directed by a senior film major, Jose F. Martinez, which will be going out to film festivals later this year.

ROLES
Asher: A 20-30 year-old male. Any ethnicity.
An anxious and lonely actor whose life goes from not good, to worse, to okay. Asher suffers from an anxiety disorder, which increases after not being able to pay the bills, going through a breakup, refusing to take his medication, and trying to find his “big break” as an actor.

Eric: A 20-30 year-old male. Any ethnicity.
He is a good friend of Asher who helps to record and edit Asher’s demo reel without asking for anything in return.

Ana: A 30-40 year-old female. Any ethnicity.
She is a cold tv commercial producer, casting Asher for a workout app.

John: A 20-30 year-old male. Any ethnicity.
He is Ana’s charming assistant who is helping to control the camera during Asher’s tv commercial audition.

Location: Dallas, TX.
Dates: The shooting of the film is scheduled for March 2021, tentatively the last weekend of March 27-28th.
Non-union, unpaid.
