we are currently working on casting a new short film about an Asian American man on a quest to find his delivery bike after it is stolen. The film is about the importance of family and the Asian American immigrant experience in New York City. We are open to both real people and actors for the roles. You do not need to have any training as an actor to be considered. The director is very open to working with someone with no experience on camera. Please let us know if you are interested or if you have any questions. I’ve attached the poster and I’ve included more information about the film below.
*Please note the director will tailor the film to whatever your native language is, so don’t worry if you aren’t a fluent English speaker as you will be speaking primarily in your native language.*
“Same Old” follows Lu, an undocumented Asian immigrant who came to the US with his wife and son only 10 years ago. Exhausted, he works every day as a food delivery driver to support his family during the pandemic. After his bike is stolen, he desperately searches the streets of NY to find it – his only lifeline to keep his family afloat.
Production will be adhering to strict COVID-19 precautions to ensure safety of all. The crew will also be wearing PPE and all crew members will be tested on an ongoing basis.
