Plague Mask Players is seeking a diverse group of fully vaccinated actors for all roles in our upcoming in-person production of As You Like It. We are actively seeking BIPOC and a variety of gender-identities. We encourage submissions from professional artists who self-identity as members of under-represented communities. Please note that this production will be complying with COVID guidelines, restrictions, and regulations.
If you are unable to attend live auditions, please submit a video audition. Self-tapes are due by 5:00 pm on 8/29/2021. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, if you are not fully vaccinated and past the 2-week period by the time of auditions we require you to submit your audition virtually.
ALL ROLES AVAILABLE. Actors 16+ encouraged to audition. (See Character list below.)
Please prepare or record a polished 1-minute Shakespeare monologue. You may use a monologue of your own choosing from any Shakespeare play or one of the provided monologues. Note from the director: We understand that Shakespeare can be a bit nerve-wracking for those who do not specialize in it, so we are offering you the option of delivering your monologue on-book, if you prefer. We expect a well-prepared, committed performance whether or not your monologue is memorized. Level of memorization will not hinder your audition. Visit our website for provided monologues.
If you’d like to be considered for a musical role (Amiens or potentially other ensemble members), we would also like to see 30 seconds a capella of a contemporary song. You can sing or play your own instrument or both! A piano will not be provided. This musical portion is NOT required. More information under casting breakdown.
Attach headshot and resume to digital form. We ask that you do not bring any physical copies to your audition.
Callbacks for specific roles may include in-person & virtual callbacks subject to actor’s availability.
