Hello, this is a student short film. I am looking for two black females; a mother and daughter. You may audition for the daughter, Hewlette if you are in between the ages of 13-20 while the mother, Harriet between the ages of 25-40. This project is about the tradition of wash day between a mother and her daughter while Hewlette is very reluctant to have her hair done, but also want’s it done straight. While her mother is trying to show her the appreciation and love of her hair.
This film is dedicated to all black mothers and daughters who have partake in this tradition and I want black women to have a film dedicated to our hair. For the daughter I am looking for someone to be themselves why also have a curios tendencies and little attitude as mothers and daughters have. While for the mom I am looking heavy handed tough love, also someone who know how to do bantu knots or who is willing to learn. Have fun and hope to see you in videos, thank you. Side note, the last three pages of the script will not be in the final film. Each role will get 200 dollars at the end of shooting. Shooting dates are 23-25th of April.
