SYNOPSIS
Tom, a school teacher nervous about his first day of teaching, tries to relax by watching TV. Suddenly, the Schoolhouse Rock kids appear in his building’s rec room and proceed to show him how to win his students over with imagination and music. The beloved Schoolhouse Rock songs include A Noun Is a Person, Place, or Thing, Three Is a Magic Number, and Unpack Your Adjectives.
CHARACTERS
Tom – The idealistic young teacher and hero of our story. He is nervous about his first day of teaching, yet gradually becomes more at ease as the show continues. He is amiable, likable, and charming. (Note: Tom doesn’t sing a solo.)
George – A marvelous character role. He takes the lead on Three Is A Magic Number and Just A Bill. George in particular is a calming presence and excellent cheerleader for Tom. He is the romantic, and he is caring and in control.
Dori – Takes the lead on A Noun Is A Person, Place, Or Thing, The Preamble and Elbow Room. She goofiest of the gang, often acting silly and being playful.
Shulie – Sweet and genuine. She is featured in Unpack Your Adjectives and takes the lead on Interplanet Janet. A likable character.
Joe – Definitely one cool kid. He’s laid back and fun-loving, who delivers Conjunction Junction with the right growl.
Dina – Mature, thoughtful, and grounded. Dina is featured in Unpack Your Adjectives and takes the lead on Interjections.
Elvis – A big personality that embodies the king of rock and roll!
Janet – A feature role with lots of personality! She leads Interplanet Janet with Shulie.
