CEREBRAL
Location: Texas RGV
Type: Film
We need a special kind of male actor. Early-to-mid 40s.
We need someone who can move an audience even with little or no dialogue. Someone who is ready to carry a feature.
Our ideal candidate is someone with lots of short film experience or theater work and ready to make the jump to feature filmmaking.
We have an award-winning screenplay that we want to turn into our next feature film. Our first feature was rough but still was recently offered distribution. Our second feature was a major technical improvement over the first one and we’re currently on our festival run with it.
This project will be our third feature and should be THE one that kicks us into another gear.
What we need is a male actor that can carry a major psychological thriller.
This is the description of our main protagonist:
He is an early-to-mid 40s former journalist-turned-college professor. Father to a teenager and married to an ambitious attorney. He is highly regarded by his colleagues, his community, and his family.
But here’s the deal: While our protagonist is in many scenes, he is badly injured early in our story. So, we need an actor that can emote, often with few or no lines. (It’s a bold and challenging role.) He is also Latino. Experience has taught us that the right casting is one of the real tricks to successful filmmaking. Our male lead must have the acting chops to communicate, sometimes with few or no words. We won’t move forward with this project until we have the right cast in place.
We will pay what we can (probably lowest SAG minimum) and work around schedules if we have to. But we need someone special that can carry our feature film.
If you believe you are that actor and want the opportunity of convincing us, send us headshots, clips, reels, etc. to: TexMexFilmWorks@gmail.com
We would like to conduct zoom auditions this June.
Are you the star of our next film?
