Award-Winning Production Companies: hiphopfilms.ca, karmafilm.ca, innonative.ca and level.film/#/ are casting for an Immersive Cinematic Dance Experience: Feature Film, TV-Series, and Live Tour about the historical evolution of dance. Executively Produced by Spike Lee’s Director of Movement and Choreographer Miaji Garcia (BlacKkKlansman, Chi Raq, She’s Gotta Have it, Fela). With musical score by Cinematic Orchestra. Featuring Ken Swift (Rock Steady Crew), Archie Burnett, Moncell Durden, Lady C, B-Boy Neguin, Storm, and Boogie Frantic. We are seeking to audition the most Talented, Skilled, Passionate, Charismatic, Eloquent Dancers with Exquisite Flavor and Style of all nationalities, ethnicities, genders, types, ages, and abilities.
Practitioners of ALL Forms of Dance and Movement from Traditional, African, and Indigenous to Tap, Swing, Salsa, HipHop, Post Modern – Contemporary and Experimental are encouraged to apply. Your audition will be a safe space to Go Deep into your Intimate, Vulnerable, Authentic, Sincere, and Eloquent Personal Story and Connection to Dance.
To proceed, here are the Casting Instructions:
Submit a video link with a short Dance performance accompanied by music and a Verbal address to camera of a few sentences to a paragraph
Answering the question:
What Moves You?
Shoot, upload a video of your Slate ID, self-interview, and dance performance.
Start with a Slate ID of your Name, Primary Dance Style, Location & E-mail.
Answer Question: What Moves You? (in a few sentences to a paragraph)
Include footage of yourself Dancing/Moving (3 min max running time)
Be sure to have Slate, Interview, and Dance all in one file.
Please film in Horizontal/Landscape Mode w/ No Heavy Editing or Filters.
