This show is the second production of Strongbox Theater which is in the design and construction phases of a brick and mortar venue located in East Rockaway, Long Island. Our mission is to build a new audience of theatergoers for straight plays as a commercial, independent theater. We hope to get a jump start on that objective by offering this ‘pay what you wish’ show to the public.
BREAKDOWN
Seeking an ensemble of actors for an upcoming outdoor festival of short plays to be rehearsed and performed in East Rockaway, Long Island this summer.
Looking for actors willing to work collaboratively and who have a history in sketch or physical comedy. Experience with characters, improv, clowning, accents, or puppetry is a plus but we welcome actors of all experiences to submit!
Seeking 3 lead ensemble members and 2 supporting ensemble members. Each actor will play multiple parts across seven to nine short plays.
AUDITIONS AND PERFORMANCES
Initial auditions will be held virtually via self tape with and in-person callbacks happening in East Rockaway, Long Island on Saturday, May 14th.
Rehearsals will start in June with performances starting July 21st and running weekends until August.
Actors of all ages, genders, ethnicities, and abilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
We would love for you to prepare two monologues, with as great a contrast in character as possible, for no longer than 2.5 minutes total for both pieces.
Please begin by slating with your name and title of your audition pieces. Please email your video submissions (unlisted YouTube link or Vimeo with password preferred) to auditions@strongboxtheater.com by end of day on Saturday, April 30th.
A stipend of $500 will be provided for lead ensemble members and a stipend of $200 will be available for supporting members. A travel stipend of $100 will be provided.
