Redemption is a third-year short film production for students of the Motion Picture Arts program at Capilano University. It is about a woman’s second chance at life after her unexpected death. Amanda is a struggling actress who is unexpectedly killed mere minutes before the opening night of her theatrical debut. Through one obstacle after another, Amanda is able to be sent back to life in an attempt to make it to her opening night on time. However, in the process, she realized that in the time she spent chasing her dream, she overlooked the people who mattered most to her.
Roles:
Amanda – Female (20s) is a goal-oriented and determined young woman who is chasing her dream of becoming a stage actress. However, her drive to succeed has resulted in her putting her goals over her loved ones.
Amanda’s Mother – Female (50s-60s) wants to do whatever she can to support Amanda and her passions. However, her sensitive and kind-hearted nature often results in Amanda resisting her mother’s love.
Felicity – Female (60s) is the angel Amanda meets in the afterlife. Despite her cold and authoritative manner, she sympathizes with Amanda’s predicament.
