Casting real people for “Taking Stock,” an observational documentary that will consist of short snippets from the lives of people aged 1-100. The film will consist of brief “interviews” with each subject, wherein they discuss the things they are most concerned about at this current time, paired with a short verite documentation of the subject in their natural state – whether at home, in their office, or etc.
Seeking 1 person of every age, with the film showing 100 subjects total, in order to capture what the world was like to people of all ages in the year 2023. An intimate, minimalist capturing of life at a fraught moment in American history.
Shoots throughout Jan., Feb., Mar. and Apr., 2023 in NYC. Flexible and depending on each participant’s schedule and availability.
Submission Instructions:
For consideration, briefly introduce yourself and articulate why you’re interested in being part of the project, and include information about your age, occupation, hobbies, fears, and desires – no need to get too personal, but please give a sense of who you are, as if someone only gets 2-3 minutes with you and you want to leave them with an honest impression of who you are, at your core. Video is preferred but text is OK as well.
We are looking for genuine people, no need to try hard to be anything other than who you are.
