Ember Choral Arts 2022-2023 Season Auditions

Auditions will be held
JUNE 2, 2022, AND SEPTEMBER 6, 2022
Singers must possess solid sight-reading skills, excellent intonation, and a clear tone.
Singers should prepare 32-Bars of a song in the style of their choosing that showcases their ability. They will also be required to sight-sing during the audition.
Ember membership is a mixture of singers who are active professionals and receive a stipend for their work; active professionals who donate their time and talent; and deeply experienced avocational singers. All adhere to the same audition requirement, rehearsal schedule, and high artistic bar. Ember singers hail from both NY and NJ (accommodated by the Penn Station rehearsal neighborhood), and self-produced concerts are all performed in both NYC and northern NJ.
Rehearsals are typically on Tuesday evenings throughout the season, with Thursdays added the two weeks prior to each concert in New York City, two blocks from Penn Station. Each concert is voiced uniquely, based on the requirements of the scores, and on singer availability.

Fall Fun with Ember (light concert) October 8th and 9th (NYC and NJ)
Voices: Oratorio World Premiere November 9th (Bedford, NY) and 10th (NYC)
Ember December Concert December 3rd and 4th (NYC and NJ)
Messiah Open Sing December 19th (NJ)
Ember Theme Concert March 4th and 5th (NYC and NJ)
Ember Theme Concert May 20th and 21st (NYC and NJ)
