Season 2 of the comedy “Welcome to Flatch” is now in production in the area and the extras casting directors are looking for background talent to fill quite a few paid, non speaking roles in the show. The FOX show is completely fictional, yet is setup to look and feel like a documentary. FOX renewed the show which premiered last year for a second season and those episodes are now filming in and around the Wilmington area. Please note that the show is in production in the Wilmington, North Carolina area and you must be local to the Wilmington / Burgaw area in order to be considered to work as paid background on set.
Welcome To Flatch is a half hour television series, and its a comedy. Welcome To Flatch is written and executive produced by Emmy Award winner Jenny Bicks. The premise of the show is that a documentary series crew sets out to document what life in a small mid-western town is like and they find themselves in the mid-western town of Flatch. The town is filled with some odd people and eccentric personalities.
About the show: When a documentary crew sets out to explore the lives of residents in a small American town — their dreams, their concerns — it stumbles upon the Midwestern town of Flatch, which is made up of many eccentric personalities. It’s a place one would want to visit and maybe even stay if there was a decent motel, which there is not. The documentary crew finds worthy subjects in cousins and best friends Kelly Mallet and Lloyd “Shrub” Mallet, who let the documentary crew in on their lives and local current events. Father Joe is the local minister who also attempts to guide Kelly and Shrub. He moved to Flatch with former girlfriend Cheryl Peterson, the editor of the local newspaper The Flatch Patriot. Other Flatch residents include Mickey St. Jean, who relentlessly attempts to become Shrub’s best friend; Kelly’s frenemy, Nadine Garcia-Parney, who runs the Flatch Historical Society; and Mandy Matthews, a magnetic force of nature who lives life on her own terms.
