New Orleans Auditions for Indie Film “The Mirror in My Dorm Room”

We’re currently casting for this book to film adaptation.

Filming: New Orleans/Louisiana. All roles are non-union, paid

Story: Justina Oceans is just a regular college student about to start her second year of college in the fictional town of Hyman, Louisiana. Justina’s ordinary college life takes a turn one night after she walks through an old mirror in her dorm room and goes back in time to 1932. While Justina is back in 1932 everyone believes that she is Laurice Haywoods, a famous star of the 1920’s and 30’s whose boyfriend is Braston Brawns, a talented musician whose career is taking off as well. During Justina’s time travels she learns why the past keeps pulling her back into Laurice Haywoods’ world back in 1932.

HE HAS A VOICE THAT CAN THE MOST CHASTE WOMAN SWOON WITH DESIRE. HE IS AS RUTHLESS AS HE IS SMOOTH. NOT A CAT YOU WANT TO MESS WITH.
9. Justina- Lead, Female, 21 – 25 yrs., African American female in her early 20’s. A FEARLESS, SMART BEAUTY. SHE CAN HOLD HER OWN WITH ANY MAN OR WOMAN. SHE’S LOYAL AND ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP. MUST BE ABLE TO SING and have a fan following.
10. O’Hara-Day Player, Male, 53 – 58 yrs., Caucasian male in his mid 50’s. A TRANSPLANT FROM THE BIG APPLE. THE PORTLY HOMICIDE COP WITH HIS THICK IRISH BROGUE THOUGHT NEW ORLEANS WOULD BE MORE QUIETER THAN NEW YORK. A GOOD COP BY AND LARGE, O’HARA HAS NO PROBLEM BENDING THE RULES IN CATCHING HIS BAD GUY AND LOCKING HIM UP.
11. Miles- Day Player, Male, 34 – 38 yrs., Caucasian male in his late 30’s. A BROADWAY PRODUCER NEW TO THE GAME. HE’S RICH BUT, HIS LOVE TO ENTERTAIN TO MASSES HAS ALWAYS BEEN HIS DREAM. HE TEAMED UP WITH HILL TO TEACH HIM THE ROPES. HE’S A GOOD MAN IN A WORLD WHERE HE REALIZES NOT EVERYONE IS TREATED THE SAME WAY AS HIM. AND HE’S ON THE FENCE OF PLAYING THE GAME OR FOLLOWING HIS OWN RULES.
12. Mama Celeste-Day Player, Female, 62 – 66 yrs., African American female in her mid 60’s IS A REGAL AND RESPECTED CHARACTER OF THE FRENCH QUARTER. SHE HAS WISDOM AND SKILLS IN BOTH THE HISTORY OF NEW ORLEANS AND THE MYSTIC ARTS. MAKING HER A WOMAN YOU DON’T WANT TO MESS WITH.
13. Laurice-Lead, Female, 25 – 35 yrs., African American female. Must be able to sing. A DAME WITH THE FACE OF AN ANGEL AND A VOICE TO MATCH. THIS WIDE-EYED GIRL NEXT DOOR LEFT HER SMALL TOWN TO CONCUR THE BIG CITY WITH HER TALENT AS BOTH SINGER AND SONGWRITER.
14. Lana- Supporting, Female, 20 – 30 yrs., African American female in her 20’s a dancer. IS THE GIRL WHO WANTS EVERYTHING AND WILL DO ANYTHING OR ANYONE TO GET WHAT SHE WANTS. SHE A DOLL WITH A SERIOUS ATTITUDE THAT MATCH BOTH HER SINGING AND DANCING SKILLS.
15. Jackson- Supporting, Male, 20 – 40 yrs., African American male in his late 20’s early 30’s. A BACK UP SINGER AND DANCER FOR BRASTON’S TROOP. WHILE GOOD AT HIS JOB, JACKSON DREAMS OF BEING THE NEXT COLE PORTER. WITH HIS SONGS PLAYED IN EVERYONE’S HOME. JACKSON IS THE LOYAL BOY-NEXT-DOOR.
