Open Audition for “Pretty Woman” in New York City

Singer auditions for the live stage musical, “Pretty Woman.”

The production states that the role is for the production that will require touring and that the show is currently on a tour across the US.

In person open call in NYC for Pretty Woman will be held in New York City. Those that cannot attend the open audition may also submit online.

The Musical is a musical with music and lyrics by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, and a book by Garry Marshall and J. F. Lawton.

The musical is based on the 1990 film of the same name written by Lawton and directed by Marshall. It centers around a free spirited Hollywood prostitute Vivian Ward, who is hired by Edward Lewis, a wealthy businessman, to be his escort for several business and social functions, and their developing relationship over the course of her week-long stay with him.

SEEKING: [DANCER WHO SINGS] Female (cis or transgender), must be 5’6” or taller, 20s – 30s, Black, Indigenous, Asian, Pacific Islander, Latinx/Hispanic, or MENASA. To appear in the ensemble with features. Strong technical dancer. Needs proficiency in ballroom style and partnering. Strong pop/rock singer.

ENSEMBLE AUDITION DATE: Monday, September 12th, 2022 AUDITION TIME: 1:00PM AUDITION LOCATION: Ripley-Grier Studios, 520 8th Avenue @ 36th Street, 16th Floor

PREPARATION: Please arrive in comfortable, form-fitting dance attire. Please bring character shoes or heels to dance in. Please prepare the following material should you be asked to stay to sing/read after the dance portion: In the FEMALE ENSEMBLE folder: TOGETHER FOREVER; and SIDE 1 of 1. Please also prepare 16 bars of a pop/rock song of choice showing off your high belt range (from the 1980s or later—no musical theatre, please). Materials in the following link:
