Shreveport Aquarium Request for Holiday Character Audition
Believe Lights the Night is an immersive holiday experience on select dates from Nov. 25 – Dec. 23 at the Shreveport Aquarium. Guests journey through the aquarium creating magic with special wands and encounter a whole host of beloved holiday characters on their journey. Various elves help guests perform magic, make ornaments, enjoy cocoa and cookies and create lasting holiday memories!
Shreveport Aquarium is seeking a diverse cast of performers who are comfortable doing improv in character while engaging with aquarium guests of all ages and ethnicities. Costume pieces will be provided.
ROLES: A variety of Santa’s elves. From Sprinkles the happy-go-lucky elf serving cookies and cocoa to all of the children, to Stella, head of the tree-topping division who helps guests study the starfish that live at the aquarium. Every elf contributes to the magic of BELIEVE!
Duties include interacting with guests of all ages, performing magic, posing for pictures, telling jokes and embodying the spirit of Christmas at every opportunity. These roles may require standing for long periods, dispensing craft materials, serving cookies and cocoa and more.
We strongly encourage performers from all cultural backgrounds to attend an audition.
Character compensation is $14 per hour including any time spent in rehearsal and fittings.
Hours will typically be 5 – 9 p.m. on select days from Nov. 25 through Dec. 23
