Logline: While under house arrest, an isolated young woman wrestles with the loss of her best friend after being the driver in a traumatic car accident.
[SHANICE] (40s-50s) African, Black, Mixed Ethnicity, Hispanic. Female presenting (all genders encouraged to submit). Heartbroken after the loss of her daughter in a fatal car accident. Lost, angry at the world. Believes her daughter’s best friend, Kaiya – who was driving the car, isn’t at fault for what happened, but has never been able to communicate that. Has tried to reach out to Kaiya, but Kaiya won’t answer her calls. Shows up at Kaiya’s door to pick up her daughter’s things the day before Kaiya’s hearing. Will be working 1-2 days between 5/27-5/29. Rate $200/day
[KAIYA’S MOM] (40s-50s). Female presenting (all genders encouraged to submit). VOICE OVER ONLY. Indigenous, Mixed Ethnicity, Hispanic. Strict, traditional, set in her ways. Conservative. Wealthy, but frugal with her money. Doesn’t believe her daughter. Doesn’t believe marijuana should be legal or understand the difference in it and alcohol. Works less than half a day. $50 flat
[JUGO] (40s or older). Male presenting (all genders encouraged submit). African, Indigenous, South Asian, Black, Mediterranean, Southeast Asian, East Asian, Middle Eastern, West Indies/Caribbean, Eastern European, Mixed Ethnicity, Filipino, North African, Hispanic, Pacific Islander male. NA meeting leader. Welcoming, inviting, calm energy. Mostly voice over, appears on Kaiya’s computer screen during a zoom NA meeting. Truly wants the best for everyone. Access to a zoom account is a plus. Works less than half a day. $50 flat.
