Stage Reading of New Musical – HALLEY’S COMET

We are excited to announce auditions for the staged reading of HALLEY’S COMET written by Cam Torres with Music by Eli Bigelow and Lyrics by Eli Bigelow and Michael C. O’Malley and directed by Gary Bigelow.
ABOUT THE PLAY:
The year is 1986 and Halley’s Comet is about to pass over the town of Huntersville. The town has pulled out all the stops for this spectacular wonder. As the town prepares, a young girl spends her night reuniting her parents, a teen scrambles to keep friendships intact, and an elderly couple gets lost in the past. Through the mysticism of the comet, the park, and the night itself, moments from the past meet with the present and guide towards the future as the town embarks on a night that is truly once in a lifetime.
THE PRODUCTION:
Rehearsals: January 3rd-January 18, 2023, generally Tuesday evenings, Saturday afternoon/evenings, and Sunday afternoons. Rehearsal location to be determined.
Tech: January 19, 2023 @ Little Theater of Fall River, The Fire Barn, Fall River, MA
Performances: January 20-21, 2023 @ 7pm at Little Theater of Fall River, The Fire Barn, Fall River, MA

CANDY; 13, a young girl. Voice/Character Type: think Matilda / Patrice from Thirteen
AMIE; early thirties, Candy’s mother. Voice/Character type: think Diana from Next To Normal / Helen from Fun Home
DANNY; 17. Voice/Character type: think Seymour from Little Shop
MAT; 18, Danny’s best friend.Voice/Character: think Jared from Dear Evan Hansen
JENNY; 18, Danny’s other best friend.Voice/Character type: think Elphaba or Kelly from the Authorized Biography of Samantha Brown
FLOYD; early thirties – early forties, Candy’s father. A musician. Voice/Character type: think James Taylor / Dan from Next to Normal.
*We will be casting between 4-6 ensemble roles*
**Actors who wish to audition for RUTH or HENRY can be in the age range of 60-80 years old**

AUDITIONS
Auditions will be held in person at Capachione School of The Performing Arts in Bridgewater, MA from 7-10pm on December 2nd and December 3rd from 3pm – 5pm.
Callbacks will be held in person the evening of December 3rd from 6pm – 10pm
You may send a video submission if you are unable to attend audition times. All video submissions must be in by 11:00 pm on December 1st.
Please bring a headshot and resume and prepare 32bars/1min song showcasing the best part of your voice. An accompanist will be present. Sides will be provided at callbacks.
