“TANISHA FORDHAM THE EGOT” is told through a series of memoirs, songs, poems, random thoughts and monologues all written in rhyme.
Conveyed through free movement, spoken word artistry, music performance, group dance, rap, call-and-response/ interactive theater, hip-hop, synchronized movement, live visual art, and play (yes actual games) “THE EGOT” calls to audiences inviting them to experience and be apart of a journey that won’t be soon forgotten.
This piece is told through by a 5 person ensemble. We are seeking to cast 5 distinct performing artists (actor/ dancer/ rappers preferred — do not have to be able to do all three) . There is power in group movement. There is power in group speak. There is power and impact in the collective. We’re interested in exploring what it means to have 5 people always on stage and moving collectively, with synergy, while the principal storyteller navigates the written text.
