Characters
P@P is written to be performed by a cast of five (may be expanded to seven). All but one play multiple characters within the story. Each actor also has an identity as a performer within the play. The script makes use of not only Jane Austen’s novel, but also her letters, and a wide range of public domain materials drawn and adapted from the internet, including postings on blogs, chat rooms, and discussion boards. Actors play roles from the novel, performers, a broad range of “internet characters” and – in one case – Austen herself.
Performers are expected to be able to switch between roles quickly, using as little as an adjustment of posture, voice, or attitude to distinguish one character from another.
English accents are welcome, but at a minimum formal, American speech is required.

Synopsis
Watch Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy fall in love all over again — this time filtered through the world of the internet. Modern voices interject and build on this classic love story in the form of blog posts, chat room discussions, quotes from film adaptations, and even letters from Ms. Austen herself to create a delightfully postmodern view of 19th century in England. Pride@Prejudice is a hilarious and moving homage to Jane Austen’s most beloved novel, as well our love affair with reading.
