Elkhart Civic Theatre invites aspiring young performers to audition for its ECT Youth Production of “Finding Nemo Jr.” for 2024 production.
Based on the beloved 2003 Pixar movie, this 60-minute musical adaptation features new music by the award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, known for their work on “Frozen” and “Coco.” The story follows Marlin, an anxious clownfish, and his adventurous son, Nemo, as they navigate the challenges of the Great Barrier Reef.

Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home.
But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves.

Auditions include vocal and dance segments, along with cold readings from the script. No preparation is required, and all materials will be provided. Youth aged 8-18 are eligible to audition, and prospective participants should bring a list of potential conflicts from Nov. 27 to Jan. 21. Co-directed by Brock Butler and Demarée Dufour-Noneman, with choreography by Jackiejo Brewers and vocal direction by Trish Habegger, “Finding Nemo Jr.” is set to captivate audiences from Jan. 18-21.
