Casting multiple roles for an indie short film about ASL.
*Please note that there are different names because I am accepting multiple age ranges for some of the roles.
Roles:
Lili (young) // Anneliese (teen) – Casting a DEAF OR HOH girl for this role! Fluent in ASL. Lili would be between 10 and 13 and Anneliese would be between 15 and 17 (can be older to play younger). ANY APPEARANCE.
Lili // Anneliese’s Mom – casting an actress between 35 and 55 to play the Mom , supporting role. MUST KNOW AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE. ANY APPEARANCE.
Eva (young) // Camilla (teen) – Casting a girl between 10 and 21 (different ranges) to play either Eva or Camilla. She is at the mall with her friends when she meets Lili // Anneliese. THIS ROLE REQUIRES INTERMEDIATE ASL SKILLS. She is nice to Lili / Anneliese and welcomes her. ANY APPEARANCE.
Josie // Taylor – This is the bully. She is the leader of the friend group. She is mean to L / A and mocks her Deafness / ASL. ANY APPEARANCE.
Amelia // Gianna – One of the girls in J / T and E / C’s friend group. Brown, red or auburn hair.
Molly // Mila – Another one of the girls in the friend group. Black or brown hair.
Poppy // Violet – Another girl in the friend group. Blonde, strawberry blonde or red hair.
Josie’s Mom – PLEASE NOTE THIS ROLE WILL ONLY BE FEATURED IN THE YOUNGER VERSION.
She chaperones the girls (young) when they go to the mall. She reprimands Josie when she catches her mocking Lili.
Eva’s Mom – ONLY IN YOUNGER VERSION.
Chaperones Eva, Poppy, Amelia and Molly to the mall again, two weeks later. 1 scene
Cashier – IN EITHER VERSION.
1 scene, only a few lines.
Mall goers – BACKGROUND / EXTRAS
