CANADA WIDE CASTING CALL:
SEEKING PERFORMANCE ARTIST CHIMP
We are in search of an exceptional performance artist capable of embodying a chimpanzee’s movements with great finesse and physicality. Ideal candidates should be relatively small in stature, as they will be replaced by an actual chimpanzee during the performance. The chosen artist will collaborate in choreographing a dynamic routine encompassing singing, movement, and a transformation from a sophisticated chimpanzee to a more primal essence. This dance aims to express the cycles of life and death, not only within the chimpanzee’s narrative but echoing throughout the entire universe. While the performer will be unrecognizable, their movements will be the foundation for the choreography. Applicants must be under 5’7″, true performance artists and dancers, and possess a valid passport.
PROJECT: MUSEUM PSA – NON UNION
CASTING: Self-tape submissions due by Friday, Dec. 11th, at 1 PM.
RECALLS: Dec. 18th.
INITIAL REHEARSAL (CHIMP) IN CANADA: Jan. 4, 5, and 6 (1-day guarantee, potential for 3).
RECORD FOR OPERA SINGER: Jan. 10-12 (1-day guarantee) with a final recording in April (date TBD).
SHOOT (CHIMP ONLY): Utah – Jan. 20 and 21 (1-day guarantee) with travel from Jan. 17-23.
USAGE: 1-year media – OLV, exhibit in museum, cinema, and social.
RATE (CHIMP): $250/travel day, $75/day per diem on all but shoot days. Fitting – $75/2 hours, $200/down day applicable. $500/session day, $250/rehearsal day, $1000 honorarium buyout.
