The Sugarloaf Theater has announced open auditions for their winter 2024 play, “Sleeping Beauty vs. the Not so Evil Fairy”
Sugarloaf Theatre, a local community theatre organization, is delighted to bring its winter production, “Sleeping Beauty vs. the Not So Evil Fairy.”
The upcoming community theater show is described as a witty parody of fairy tale traditions, this original play is the brainchild of Seamus Schwaba, the 17-year-old founder and executive director of Sugarloaf Theatre in Winona, Minnesota.
Designed to captivate children and families within the community, the play aims to ignite the theatrical spirit in the upcoming generation of theater enthusiasts. Auditions are open to individuals aged 12 and above, including both adults and children.

Performance of the play is scheduled for March 16 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., with an additional show on March 17 at 2 p.m.
All auditions, rehearsals, and performances are set to take place at Bluffview Montessori School. In a special engagement, the cast will also present the play to the students at Bluffview Montessori School on March 15 in the early afternoon. Auditions:
Scheduled for January 10, 2024, auditions will run from 6:45-8:45 p.m. Interested participants are encouraged to secure a five-minute audition slot through Sugarloaf Theatre’s Linktree (linktr.ee/sugarloaftheatre) and come prepared with a brief memorized monologue.
Rehearsals are set for every Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday, spanning from 6:45-8:45 p.m. until the week preceding the show, where the schedule may vary. Whether you’re a seasoned theatre enthusiast or stepping onto the stage for the first time, Sugarloaf Theatre welcomes all those young at heart to audition for this thrilling new production, offering diverse roles suitable for individuals of all ages.
