Dog Auditions in the Silicon Valley Area to Play Agatha Christie’s Dog Peter

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley has a unique casting opportunity for dogs.

Yep, it’s a casting call for dogs to play the role of Peter, Agatha’s cherished wirehaired terrier, who was so adored by the prolific author that he was honored with dedications in two of her novels.

“Heidi Armbruster’s ‘Mrs. Christie'” is a theatrical production that delves into the world of Agatha Christie, the legendary queen of mystery novels. This West Coast premiere offers a unique and intriguing perspective on the life of the iconic author, weaving together elements of mystery, comedy, and drama. The play promises to take audiences on a thrilling journey as it unravels the enigmatic personality of Agatha Christie while introducing us to her beloved wirehaired terrier, Peter.

 

In its upcoming West Coast premiere of Heidi Armbruster’s “Mrs. Christie,” a lively mystery centered around the renowned queen of mystery novels, Agatha Christie.

The theater company is in search of a canine companion to join the cast and take on the role of Peter, For this role, TheatreWorks’ Artistic Director, Giovanna Sardelli, who is also the play’s director, is on the lookout for a well-behaved, trained dog of any size with a talent for sniffing out clues.

Pet owners in the Silicon Valley area are encouraged to submit their dogs for consideration by contacting Jeffrey Lo, TheatreWorks’ Associate Producer of Casting and Literary Management, providing photographs of their hopeful furry friends, along with a brief description of their stage experience or why their pup is the ideal fit for the part.

The dog playing Peter will appear during several scenes of “Mrs. Christie,” which is scheduled to run Oct. 4-29 at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro Street.
