“A Midsummer Night’s Dream”

HI, we are in need of a few principal actors to play roles in a unique live adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream”. It will be staged ‘under the radar’ at a cultural festival in rural Pennsylvania in summer 2023, over the course of the festival’s opening week (from late July through early August). What makes it unique is the usage of non-sexual nudity, as per the tradition set by the show’s original director (we are ‘inheriting’ this project from him). We will not be publicizing the cast list, and we also will employ a strict ‘no video / recording / photography’ policy for live performances.
We will be using online ‘audition’ methods, so you dont have to live in Pennsylvania to audition for this play. Any chosen actors would, however, have to arrange transportation to and from the festival. We will be rehearsing the play online, via Zoom, until the festival begins. The attached file shows the (edited) playscript we will be using.
We seek males and females 18 and over, any ethnicity OK. We aren’t selling tickets, so it will be a ‘labor of love’, but in a fun and supportive environment.
