‘Peter Pan’ Auditions for Young Actors.
The Dalles Civic Auditorium Children’s Theatre in The Dalles, Oregon (Portland Metro area)
The Dalles Civic Auditorium Children’s Theatre has announced open auditions for the upcoming spring production of “Peter Pan.” Amateur actors aged 8-13 are invited to audition on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 28 and 29, from 4-6 p.m. at The Dalles Civic Auditorium.
No experience in needed to audition, but kids that would like to be part of the show should come ready to deliver a brief monologue (1-2 minutes), perform a short song, without music, just one verse, and be ready to talk about themselves to the casting directors.
“Peter Pan,” the classic tale by J.M. Barrie, transports audiences to the enchanting world of Neverland, where dreams take flight and eternal youth is within grasp. The story revolves around the spirited and mischievous Peter Pan, who, along with his fairy sidekick Tinker Bell, invites the Darling children—Wendy, John, and Michael—on a magical journey to the fantastical island. In Neverland, they encounter swashbuckling pirates led by the infamous Captain Hook, mermaids, and a ticking crocodile. The timeless narrative explores themes of imagination, friendship, and the bittersweet reality of growing up. “Peter Pan” captivates hearts with its whimsical adventures, iconic characters, and the enduring promise that, with a sprinkle of pixie dust, one can forever remain a child at heart.
All cast members will be selected through auditions. This is a 12-week program commencing rehearsals in January, with performances slated for March 1, 2, 9, and 10. Rehearsals will occur every Sunday from 1-4 p.m., and on Tuesday and Thursday from 4-6 p.m. There is a $100 fee per child for the program with some scholarships available.
