Paid Theater Acting Audition.
All actors receive a $400 stipend once show has closed. We encourage and would love to see some new faces. In our current production After the Blast by Zoe Kazan we cast 2 first time Convergers, one of which was a leading role.

PLAY DESCRIPTION:
Walking to Buchenwald by Tom Jacobson
A soon-to-be-married couple, Schiller and Arjay, take Schiller’s parents on their first trip to Europe. Using his personal experience as a jumping off point, playwright Tom Jacobson takes the audience on an ominously comic journey during which guinea pigs play cricket, dead bodies talk, and the two couples learn what it means to be American in a world that no longer admires the U.S.
AVAILABLE ROLES:
Cast: 5 total (3 female, 2 male, flexible casting, up to 4 women and 1 man or 4 men and 1 woman)
Schiller: Any gender identity; 20s-40s; Arjay’s partner; director of strategic planning; micro-manager; controlling, but not in a bullying kind of way
Arjay: Any gender identity; 20s-40s; Schiller’s partner; painter/artist; freewheeling & fun; Schiller’s opposite
Mildred: Female; 50s-70s; Roger’s wife; retired elementary school teacher; “everyone’s mom”
Roger: Male; 50s-70s; Mildred’s husband; retired theatre professor; perhaps a little more adventurous than his wife
Other (plays every other part): Any gender identity; Any age; Must have superb comedic timing; ability to do several accents.
ABOUT THE AUDITIONS:
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.
