This is an animated musical adaptation of the classic poem written by Clement Clarke Moore. The story tells of a family on Christmas Eve who are awakened from their slumber to see Santa Claus delivering their presents. The poem will be brought to life with classic carols, lively music, and hand-drawn animation.
Roles Available:
FATHER
The main character of the story. He is a kind, caring, loving father who cherishes the time he spends with his family. He is also the story’s narrator. The actor must be able to play dynamic, upbeat, cheery, active, healthy, happy, full of confidence and positive self-esteem. Looking for an actor who can play this character with a genuine feeling of love and playfulness, and childlike enthusiasm when telling the story.
MOTHER
A warm, loving mother and a proud household wife. She loves Christmas and she loves her family. She has lots of Christmas spirit and tons of playful energy. The heart and soul of the show and the touchstone for the parents. The actor playing her must be strong, upright, all-knowing, graceful, elegant, intelligent, and caring, especially towards her young kids. A great mom! Must compliment the Father most excellently. Looking for an actress who can play all these qualities in a realistic manner.
CHILDREN
These children are sound asleep in their beds, while visions of sugarplums dance, in their heads, when they are awakened by loud noise. These kids love Christmas, and are very excited to meet Santa Claus. Looking for three boys and three girls who can play loving, kind, positive, healthy, energetic, excited, playful, cheerful, happy, jolly, caring and full of Christmas spirit.
SANTA CLAUS
While the family are the main characters of the story, it is Santa Claus who really steals the show. We all know and love Santa. Looking for an actor who can play jolly, positive, caring, warm, loving, comic, playful, happy, kind and full of Christmas cheer.
DASHER
One of Santa’s reindeer. Loyal to Santa and full of holiday cheer. Songs the song “Jingle Bells” with Santa. Looking for a male singer with a jolly and playful voice.
DANCER
One of Santa’s reindeer. Loyal to Santa and full of holiday cheer. Songs the song “Jingle Bells” with Santa. Looking for a female singer with a jolly and playful voice.
PRANCER

COMPOSER
Must compose original music as an underscore for each scene in the story. Must also perform original recordings of these seven classical pieces of Christmas music: “Joy to the World”, “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy”, “Silent Night”, “Jingle Bells”, “Deck the Halls”, “March of the Toy Soldiers” and “We Wish You A Merry Christmas”.
BACKGROUND ARTISTS
Must be able to paint beautiful backgrounds in the style of vintage children’s book illustrators like Beatrix Potter, Tasha Tudor, Ernest Shepard and Paul Galdone. Must be able to recreate drawings to look more realistic and professional.
ANIMATORS
Must be able to draw the characters in 2D hand-drawn animation. Must be efficient and professional-looking. Must be able to adapt to drawing styles. Must be collaborative, dedicated and professional.

Auditioning actors must provide a recording of themselves singing a Christmas carol of their choice, as well as a recording of themselves reading the original poem.
This is a non-paid experience. But the actors and crew involved will be given a copy of the finished film for their resume, as well as receive an honorarium for any profits.
