Yuma Art Center’s Dinner Theater show “The Great Gatsby” by Scott F. Fitzgerald and adapted by Simon Levy.
“The Great Gatsby,” takes audiences to the lavish and tumultuous world of 1920s Jazz Age America. The story unfolds against the backdrop of the opulent Long Island, with its extravagant parties and decadent lifestyles. At the heart of the narrative is the mysterious Jay Gatsby, a wealthy and enigmatic figure known for his extravagant gatherings. As Nick becomes entangled in the lives of Gatsby and his elusive love interest, Daisy Buchanan, the novel explores themes of love, wealth, and the American Dream. Fitzgerald’s prose is rich with symbolism and vivid descriptions, capturing both the allure and the emptiness of a society obsessed with excess. “The Great Gatsby” remains a timeless exploration of the complexities of human nature and the elusive pursuit of happiness.
