Donny, 11, is an inquisitive and introspective boy, navi- gating the complex transition from childhood to his teenage years. Adventurous and rebellious, he engages in typical boyhood antics with his friend, Kevin. Though enjoying his childhood freedoms, Donny has a growing desire to understand and emulate adult behav- iors, yearning for the respect that comes with age.
KEVIN IMALE, AGES 9-12, ANY ETHNICITY]
Kevin, 11, is Donny’s friend and partner in mischief. Carefree and a bit of a clown, Kevin is game for anything. Not so preoccupied with the adult world around him, he maintains an innocent, boyish outlook. He desires adventure and fun, motivated more by the thrill of rule-breaking than any deeper exploration of adulthood.
JANE (FEMALE, AGES 18-22, ANY ETHNICITY]
Jane, 18, is a young woman living at the apartment complex with Donny and Kevin. She believes herself to be deeper and more complex than other girls her age. She dresses all in black, listens to alternative rock, reads sad girl novels and chain smokes cigarettes. All of which are elements she’s acquired in an effort to cultivate a sense of identity as she enters adulthood.
TIM IMALE, AGES 25-35, WHITE)
Tim, 28, is a bachelor living at the apartment complex. He’s the quintessential image of masculinity. Fit, rugged, handy, and confident with an all-American kind of charm. He spends most of his time polishing and refining his favorite assets: his body and his ride, a source of much pride and success. Nothing does more to validate his masculinity than the adoration of attrac- tive women.
