About the Film: “Jane and the Rose” is based on a true story and aims to raise awareness about missing children and the power of the heart-brain connection.
The film will be shot in a raw documentary style and submitted to film festivals.
We are casting for the following roles: LOCAL TALENT ONLY
- Doctor Bergman (supporting): White Jewish male, aged 30-65. A loving father, blatantly racist, stubborn, and outspoken, but also sensitive. He has an intense presence, with his daughter being his weakness. Must be able to convey deep, internalized distress without forcing the emotion. His love for his daughter and wife is profound, and he will do anything to save his little girl.
- Mrs. Bergman (supporting): White female, age 28-50. A strong, sensitive, discreet type who is unafraid to confront her husband when necessary.
- Doctor Laveau (supporting): Aged 30 to 60, Doctor Laveau is an accomplished African American neuroscientist specializing in children and teens. At the top of her field, she conducts cutting-edge research on heart-brain coherence. She is both professional and very warm with kids, but she doesn’t tolerate any disrespect.
- Agent Miller (supporting): Aged 30 to 60, Agent Miller is a blatantly racist, tough-cookie FBI agent. He or she is arrogant, cold, and sarcastic, not shy about expressing prejudices. However, when interviewing children, a softer side emerges, showing kindness in those moments. The character can be portrayed as white, Creole (very light skin), Asian, Native American, or Latin.
