Is your teen interested in working on a movie set?
If so, Atlanta area casting directors invite you to tryout for a small, paid role on a movie or TV show set.
Atlanta’s casting company, Casting Taylor Made, put out a casting call for kids. Seems they will be needing kids and teens for upcoming productions and they are looking to expand their database of teens who have an interest in working on a movie or television show set.
Parents are asked to submit their children and the casting team has provided a short question and answer description below for those looking to find out how it all works. These casting directors have cast extras for many large productions which include “Stranger Things” and “Found.”

Common questions we get about children working on set ANSWERED:
Q. What is an extra / background artists?
A. A person who is used to bring scenes alive in film. Background artists are normally non-speaking roles.
Q. What is a photodouble?
A. A person who resembles an actor in height, build, hair color, and complexion, and is used to film in their place in scenes where the actor is not the focus
Q. Do you need experience to work in film?
A. Experience is ALWAYS a plus but not necessary! We book people who have never been on a set before all the way to booking people who have worked in the industry for year.
Q. How much do MINOR(children) background actors get paid?
A. It varies per project, but all minors will make the same rate as ADULT background actors with the hours being the only exception. If a standard adult background rate is $150/12, minors will be paid $150/10.
Q. What does $150/12 and $150/10 mean?
A. It means you will be paid $150 dollars total for the hours of work on set. Adults are almost always guaranteed the rate for 12 hours, whereas minors are guaranteed the rate for 10 hours (or less depending on age of minor). You are guaranteed the rate even if you only work 1 hour!
Q. My child doesn’t have a GDOL, can he still submit?
A. YES! Getting a GDOL is FREE and VERY QUICK!!! You can text Jess at 470.970.0615 any time and she can walk you through the process. (Don’t let the GDOL hold you back from applying).
Q. Will my child get be on set with other actors?
A. Though we aren’t able to disclose the specifics of the scene, your child will be on a real set with our real crew and real actors.
