ATLANTA – Calling Talented Senior Actors!
The production of “Steel Magnolias” needs 2 actors to fill the roles of Clairee Belcher and Ouiser Belcher. Both roles are ages 60 to 70. Know any actors who fit the parts in the Atlanta area? If so, casting directors would love to have them audition.
Performances of the show will be in Conyers, Georgia, in December. There is also an open call coming up in Conyers area (Tucker) for this production.
Steel Magnolias is a heartwarming and poignant dramedy set in a small Southern town, centered around the close-knit friendship of six women who regularly gather at Truvy’s beauty salon. Through humor, love, and moments of deep emotion, they navigate life’s challenges, from marriage and motherhood to loss and resilience. Furthermore, Steel Magnolias explores the strength and bond between women as they support each other through life’s highs and lows.

ATLANTA WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We need your help to complete the cast of Steel Magnolias! We’re looking for two incredible actors, aged 60+ (or who can convincingly portray older women), to bring two iconic characters to life. While we’ve received nearly 100 submissions, we still haven’t found the perfect fit for these key roles, and we know the talent is out there!

The Roles:
- Clairee Belcher (60-70): A sharp-witted and wealthy widow, Clairee is the former mayor’s wife who balances her sarcastic humor with a heart full of wisdom. She’s the type of woman who knows how to lighten the mood with a quick quip but is always there when it counts.
- Ouiser Boudreaux (60-70): Ouiser is the town’s tough, no-nonsense character with a gruff exterior and a sharp tongue. Underneath it all, she’s a fiercely loyal friend who cares deeply, even if she doesn’t always show it.
