The River Region Ballet is thrilled to announce open auditions for its upcoming production of “The Nutcracker,” set to take the stage in December 2024. Since 1995, this beloved holiday performance has enchanted audiences with its combination of spectacular dancing, stunning sets and costumes, and the unforgettable music of Tchaikovsky. As we celebrate our 30th season, we invite dancers and performers of all skill levels to be a part of this magical experience.
Produced annually since 1995, the River Region Ballet’s combination of amazing dancers, gorgeous sets and costumes, and Tchaikovsky’s timeless music makes the Nutcracker one of the greatest holiday shows. River Region Ballet, Inc. is delighted to announce that this beloved holiday tradition will continue in the River Parishes for 2024!

Join the River Region Ballet for Auditions of “The Nutcracker”
Audition Details:
Date: Saturday, August 24, 2024
Location: Lafon Performing Arts Center, Atrium Entrance, Luling, LA
Audition Fee: $15 (payable by check, Venmo, or online)
Audition Schedule:
Mandatory Cast Meetings: 9:00 AM or 12:00 PM (Choose one)
Theatrical Roles: Ages 10+ | 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM
Acrobatic Roles: Ages 7+ | 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM
Dancing Roles:
Ages 4-6: 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM
Ages 7-9: 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM
Ages 10-12: 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM
Ages 13+: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Required Dance Class:
All dancers aged 10 and older must participate in a full ballet class as part of the audition process. Please wear appropriate dance attire and shoes.
Parent or Guardian Representation: Performers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during auditions.

December 14 & 15, 2024
Location: Lafon Performing Arts Center

Can’t Attend the In-Person Auditions? Submit a Video!
The River Region Ballet is accepting video auditions until August 17, 11:59 PM. Please email your video audition, along with a headshot and resume, to heidi@riverregionballetinc.org.
Dancing Video Audition Requirements:
- 1st arabesque, a terre and en l’air, right and left
- A tendu/pirouette combination
- An adagio combination
- A petit allegro combination
- (If on pointe) a combination including chappé on pointe
