The Russes – Historical Comedy
Audition Date: Saturday, August 3rd
Location: Houston, TX (Specific Location for Auditioning TBD)
Synopsis:
Set in the 9th century, a group of Scandinavians, led by Rurik and his brothers, ventures into an unfamiliar territory that will become modern-day Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus. Joining forces with the Slavs of the land, the Scandinavians and Slavs unite to establish Kievan Rus, a medieval state. However, as time progresses, new challenges and foes emerge, testing the durability and unity of Kievan Rus.
Roles:
- Rurik: 30-40 yrs old male; any ethnicity; serious and athletic
- Sineus: 20-35 yrs old male; any ethnicity
- Truror: 20-35 yrs old male; any ethnicity; gullible and a bit of an airhead
- Alisher: 20-35 yrs old male; any ethnicity; little person; jokster
- Julia: 20-27 yr old female; any ethnicity
- Ekaterina: 20-27 yr old female; any ethnicity
- Grand Prince Vladimir the Great: 30-45 yrs old male; any ethnicity; narcissistic
- Boris (Envoy): 20-35 yrs old male; any ethnicity
- Igor (Envoy): 20-35 yrs old male; any ethnicity
- Anton (Envoy): 20-35 yrs old male; any ethnicity
- Princess Anna: 20-27 yr old female; any ethnicity
- Batu Khan: 30-40 yrs old male; any ethnicity; serious, athletic, and cold-hearted
Please note that cast positions are unpaid, but you will receive credit, meals, and a copy of the final film for your reel.
CREW POSITIONS (PAID):

Crew positions will be paid. Compensation will be discussed individually based on role and experience.
