Fiddler on the Roof Community Theater Auditions

Location: Johnstown, PA
Type: Theater

Fiddler on the Roof” is a cherished musical that tells the touching story of Tevye, a Jewish dairyman in the village of Anatevka, as he strives to uphold his cultural and religious traditions amidst growing external pressures. Set in the early 20th century in Imperial Russia, the narrative explores themes of love, faith, and resilience. Tevye faces the challenge of his three eldest daughters wanting to marry for love rather than following traditional matchmaking customs. With iconic songs like “Tradition,” “Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” and “If I Were a Rich Man,” “Fiddler on the Roof” beautifully illustrates the universal struggle to balance tradition and change.

We are seeking to cast approximately six to eight children (ages 8-14) and 35 adults (ages 15+). This production is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion. We encourage performers of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, abilities, ages, and members of the Deaf community to audition and help us build this beautiful community of Anatevka.
