Roles:
- Dorsett (FEMALE, thirties-fifties, flexible). Strong, intense, intelligent authority figure (Space Navy ship captain) with the ability to see through people: a mentor character with some sarcasm and eccentricity, but serious intent.
- Thomas (MALE, twenties). Military officer. Youthful, brash, and impulsive, but with a somewhat broken spirit due to recent events. Sincere and stubborn, but in over his head.
- Hauser (MALE, forties-sixties) A politician whose dignified exterior hides ruthlessness, paranoia, and secrets.
- Reeves (MALE, forties-fifties). Heavyset, a high-powered creditor who is serious, but fussy about the money he manages. His justified frustration can verge on apoplexy. Would consider switching to female for the right personality.
- Fields (FEMALE, mid-late twenties) Quiet and humble Space Navy officer; projects quiet intelligence and humility.
- Walsh (FEMALE, Twenties-Thirties). Very professional and genial loans officer with customer service flair; sympathetic to customers’ bad situations. Shrinks when challenged.
- TAMAR (FEMALE, Twenties-Thirties). Space Navy crew member. Very excitable and enthusiastic. Great conversationalist and “banterer” who can make mundane conversations seem like flirting.
- Cass (FEMALE, twenties to thirties) Tall and strongly built. A former convict, her professional attire and manner cannot entirely hide her roughness.
