Roles:

  • DAKOTA (18-25): Nonchalant and inexperienced in politics, Dakota feels the pressure of proving himself after his father pushed him to take over as Village Chief. A bit of a goofball, his problem-solving strategies are more entertaining than effective. While he seems distant from his culture, he eventually reconnects with it.
  • ALEXANDRA (18-25): The receptionist at the band office, Alexandra is known for her intelligence and sharp wit. She is easily the smartest in any room and takes on the role of keeping Dakota on track.
  • FRED (18-25): A council member who resents Dakota after losing the Chief position to him. Fred constantly tries to undermine Dakota and knock him down a peg whenever he gets the chance.
  • JOHN (60-80): An older member of the community who struggles with the changing times. He’s wary of the younger generation stepping into power and taking control of the Reservation.
  • SON WHO SITS ON PEBBLE (18-25): An athlete and actor, he’s Dakota’s childhood friend. He approaches Dakota to advocate for the construction of a new ice rink.
  • RYAN (Any Age): An unhoused person who pretends to be a hockey player in order to gain access to the Band Office kitchen.
