Heathers vs. Plastics Auditions
Acting Under the Influence is casting “Heathers vs. Plastics,” a drunk Heathers and Mean Girls themed cabaret. Auditionees must be 21+. PAID (pay variable as it is tip/donation based, average around $50 for 3 rehearsals + 1 performance.)
For auditions, we’d like a video of you singing! If you have a song from or in the style of either of the shows, we’d love to see it, but we’ll also accept reels, old self-tapes, or whatever you have on hand.
You must be 21 years of age or older to be considered, since our actors perform the shows while drinking.
You must be based in Atlanta or willing to travel to Atlanta for rehearsals and performances. At this time, housing is not provided.
Actors receive an equal split of all tips and donations received during the performance.
Performance is at Red Light Cafe, August 29th, 2024
Rehearsal schedule is as follows:
– “Heathers” music rehearsal – 8:30 PM, Location TBD, Wednesday August 14th.
– “Plastics” music rehearsal – 8:30 PM, Location TBD, Wednesday August 21st.
– Run through – 8:30 PM, Location TBD, Wednesday August 28th.
– Performance – actor call time 7:30 PM, show begins at 8:30 PM, Red Light Cafe, Thursday August 29th.
Audition deadline: Midnight on August 5th, 2024.
The cast will consist of the following roles:
- ACTOR ONE (Veronica Sawyer): A smart, kind-hearted high school girl who struggles to fit in with the popular crowd. & (Ms. Norbury): A dedicated and witty math teacher who cares deeply about her students’ well-being.
- ACTOR TWO (JD): A charming but deeply troubled new student with a dark, rebellious streak. & (Mr. Duvall): The stern but fair high school principal, determined to maintain order.
- ACTOR THREE (Heather Chandler): The ruthless, glamorous leader of the Heathers, who rules the school with an iron fist. & (Caitlyn Caussin): A smart, ambitious student who excels academically.
- ACTOR FOUR (Heather Duke): The ambitious and insecure second-in-command, eager to usurp HeatherChandler’s throne. & (Karen Smith): The ditzy and sweet member of the Plastics, known for her naive comments.
- ACTOR FIVE (Heather McNamara): The sweet but emotionally fragile Heather, who hides her pain behind a cheerful façade. & (Gretchen Weiners): Regina’s loyal but insecure second-in-command, constantly seeking approval.
- ACTOR SIX (Martha Dunstock): Veronica’s childhood friend, a kind and vulnerable girl often targeted by bullies. & (Janis Sarkisian): An edgy, rebellious student with a strong sense of justice and disdain for the Plastics.
- ACTOR SEVEN (Kurt): A dim-witted, macho jock who thrives on tormenting others with his best friend, Ram. & (Kevin G): The confident and nerdy Mathlete who takes pride in his rapping skills.
- ACTOR EIGHT (Ram): Kurt’s equally brainless and brutish sidekick, who enjoys bullying the weaker students. & (Jason Weems): A flirty, somewhat clueless student often found trying to impress girls.
- ACTOR NINE (Ms. Fleming):The well-meaning but out-of-touch high school guidance counselor. & (Regina George): The manipulative and charismatic leader of the Plastics, who controls the school’s social hierarchy.
- ACTOR TEN (Blow Dried Preppy): A stereotypically slick and superficial student who follows the popular crowd. & (Cady Heron): A kind-hearted and naive new student from Africa, who navigates the treacherous waters of high school cliques.
- ACTOR ELEVEN (Beleaguered Geek): An awkward and nerdy student, constantly harassed by his peers. & (Damian Hubbard): Janis’s openly gay best friend, known for his humor and supportive nature.
- ACTOR TWELVE (Hipster Dork): A quirky, alternative student who embraces his unique style despite not fitting in. & (Aaron Samuels): A kind and attractive student who becomes Cady’s love interest, ex-boyfriend of Regina.
