orsChicago Fire is back in production.
The NBC Chicago franchise which encompasses multiple shows films twice a year and after their spring hiatus, the shows are back to filming new episodes. The Chicago suite of shows use many locals to fill small, paid, background roles and casting calls are out for extras, stand-ins and photo-doubles.
NBC’s “Chicago Fire” and Chicago P.D. have resumed production for the fall 2024 season in the Chicagoland area. Casting directors seeking local residents to work as paid background actors on set. Those living outside Chicago can visit the extras casting call page for opportunities in their respective areas as extras are normally hired locally.

“Chicago Fire,” part of NBC’s interconnected Chicago-themed shows including “Chicago PD,” continues its longstanding success since its debut in 2012. The drama series chronicles the lives of firefighters, rescue squad members, and paramedics at Firehouse 51, led by Chief Wallace Boden and featuring characters like Matthew Casey and Kelly Severide. The show portrays everyday heroes who courageously navigate life-threatening situations in service to their community.

Searching for MALE LATINOS, 5’11 TO 6′, slim to medium build, dark hair or grayish hair, 40’S TO 60’S to work as a STAND IN (a standin is someone who is the same complexion, height, weight, and hair color who will work in place of the actor to light and camera block the set) on Chicago Fire. This is a paid position that will start on Friday, July 19th and film thru mid April. To be considered you must be available for the whole season, if cast.
Casting directors state they have a wonderful crew and all the stand-ins are professional and a great team.
We film Monday thru Friday with an occasional night shoot or Saturday filming (could be about three or four times during the season). We start as early as 5am and film a 12 hour day. A nice lunch is served about half way through the day.
The rate of pay to work as a STAND IN is $180 for 8 hours and time and a half after 8 hours. A check is sent about two weeks later.

Searching for CAUCASIAN GIRLS, 4’3″ TO 4’5″, BROWN LONG HAIR, SLIM TO MEDIUM BUILD, TO WORK two or three DAYS ON CHICAGO FIRE on our 1st episode. This is for a PHOTO DOUBLE extra non-speaking position. (A photo double is someone who matches the height and weight, hair color of the actor and who is used in place of the actor to film insert shots, or shots far away where we think it’s the actor.)

These are paid positions. $170 for six hours and time and a half after six hours. We film for about 8 or so hours with children.
All children cast will need a JOAN PHILO WORK PERMIT. We can tell you how to obtain one.
The filming dates are TBD, but will be sometime next week, there will also be a wardrobe fitting at Cinespace studio.
