“Long Bright River,” filming in the New York are is casting to fill a small role.
The novel, written by Liz Moore, is being turned into a television series and is beginning production in the New York area. Early reports state the TV series will star Amanda Seyfried. The limited series will be filming in NYC between March and June of 2024.
According to the show’s IMDB page, Moore, a native of Philadelphia, will adapt her own novel for the screen. Set against the backdrop of her hometown, the story revolves around two sisters: one, an addict who vanishes, and the other, a police officer determined to find her. Exploring the powerful bonds of place, duty, and family, “Long Bright River” promises to deliver a gripping narrative.
Liz Moore and Nikki Toscano, known for her work on “The Offer,” are collaborating to write and executive produce the limited series adaptation of the novel. Joining them as executive producers are Amy Pascal from Pascal Pictures and Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, and Amanda Lewis from Original Film. Toscano will serve as the showrunner, overseeing the series’ development. Additionally, Hagar Ben-Asher, acclaimed for “Dead Women Walking,” will direct and executive produce the series’ inaugural episode.
The book caught the attention of Isabel Siskin at Pascal Pictures and Amanda Lewis at Original Film and is now coming to the small screen. “Long Bright River” tells the story of two sisters, whose lives take vastly different paths. One sister, grappling with addiction, suddenly goes missing, leaving her family and community in turmoil. The other sister, a dedicated police officer, embarks on a relentless search to find her. As the narrative unfolds, Moore weaves together themes of family, obligation, and the ties that bind us to our past and present.
