Casting Call: Stand-ins Needed for “Apopka” Film in Charlotte, NC
The upcoming biographical film Apopka (working title), starring Sydney Sweeney, is seeking stand-ins for filming in Charlotte, North Carolina. This feature film will focus on the life of legendary female boxer Christy Martin, portrayed by Sweeney, known for her roles in Euphoria, The White Lotus, and The Handmaid’s Tale. Directed by David Michod (Animal Kingdom, The King), Apopka will chronicle Martin’s rise to fame and the personal battles she faced throughout her career.
The movie is just a few weeks away from beginning production in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. Current schedule has the project filming from September 30th and continuing into November. The movie is also looking to fill a variety of other small roles.

Casting Details:
- Seeking: Stand-ins with previous set experience, preferred. Applicants will be considered to stand in for specific characters, as well as various other roles.
- Pay Rate: $104 for an 8-hour workday. Time and a half will be paid for any hours worked over 8. For example, a 12-hour day would pay $182.
- Filming Dates: Starts September 30 and runs through mid-November 2024.

- Photos: Submit two current cell phone photos taken within the last week—one close-up and one full-length.
- Information: Include your name, phone number, age, city/state of residence, height, weight, clothing sizes, shoe size, and a description of any visible tattoos or piercings.
