Merely Players Presents is thrilled to announce auditions for Let Nothing You Dismay, a holiday comedy written by Topher Payne. Set to entertain audiences with its laugh-out-loud humor and touching moments, this production explores the chaos and warmth of familial gatherings during Christmas. With a diverse ensemble of characters, this fast-paced farce promises an unforgettable theatrical experience.
Synopsis: Kevin and Allie are on the brink of becoming parents as they await a life-changing phone call. Despite their wishes for a quiet homecoming, their plans are disrupted by an influx of family members. Kevin’s father arrives with his young wife and entourage, followed by Kevin’s mother and her colorful companions, and finally, Allie’s competitive sister and lively relatives. Eight actors bring to life twenty-two characters, capturing the hilarious and heartfelt essence of family interactions during the holidays.

Audition Details:
- Dates:
- Monday, July 15th at 7:00 PM
- Tuesday, July 16th at 7:00 PM
- Location: Doraville Civic Center, 3770 Central Avenue, Doraville, GA
- Callbacks (if needed): Wednesday, July 17th at 7:00 PM at the same location.
Preparation:
- Audition Format: Cold readings from the play. Sides are available – See below.
- Materials: Please bring a list of any conflicts from October through December.

Rehearsal Schedule:
- Start Date: October 20th
- Days: Sunday to Thursday evenings
- Notes: No rehearsals on Halloween or from Wednesday to Saturday of Thanksgiving week. Not everyone will be called each night.
Tech Week and Performance Dates:
- Tech Week: Begins December 1st
- Performance Dates: December 7-8, 12-15, 19-21
- Performance Times: Thursday, Friday, Saturday at 7:30 PM; Sunday at 5:00 PM
- Mandatory: Attendance during tech week and all performance dates is required.
