The Bourbon County Community Theatre is excited to announce auditions for its upcoming production, Holy Mother of Bingo! by Patrick Walsh. As the theatre gears up for its first show of the season, it extends an open call to enthusiastic adult and teen performers. This interactive comedy murder mystery, described as an uproarious blend of humor and suspense, will be directed by Angie Bin.

Audition Schedule:
- Monday, June 17: 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, June 18: 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Location: Ellis Performing Arts Center at Fort Scott Community College, 2108 S. Horton Street, Fort Scott, KS
Who Can Audition: The auditions are open to adults and teens. Participants need no prior acting experience or preparation. Auditions will include cold readings from the script and interactive activities to evaluate comedic timing and audience engagement.
Roles: A variety of roles are available, suitable for a diverse range of performers. The casting team encourages both seasoned actors and newcomers to participate, emphasizing the production’s need for dynamic characters to drive the plot.
About the Show:
Holy Mother of Bingo! transforms a typical church bingo fundraiser into a thrilling mystery. When parishioners start dropping dead, the event spirals into a whodunit with a slew of suspects. As described by Pioneer Drama, the play’s vibrant characters—including a disgruntled choir director, a magician turned youth minister, and even the audience—are all potential culprits. This interactive format guarantees an engaging experience for both the cast and the audience, promising plenty of humor and intrigue.
Rehearsal and Performance Schedule:
- Rehearsals: Starting June 24, rehearsals will generally be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Ellis Performing Arts Center.
- Performance Dates: August 2 & 3, 2024, at the Ellis Performing Arts Center.
