River Falls Community Theatre Announces Auditions for “The Christmas Café” – River Falls, Wisconsin is East of the Milwaukee area.
Director Malissa Jones of River Falls Community Theatre is seeking seven women and seven men to fill roles in the upcoming holiday production, The Christmas Café. Auditions are open to the public and will be held on Saturday, October 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the River Falls Public Library’s story time room. This is a great opportunity for local actors to take part in a festive and heartwarming production just in time for the holiday season.
About The Christmas Café:
This unique three-part play takes place in a cozy restaurant where Betty, the hardworking waitress and cook, serves patrons from three iconic holiday stories: The Night Before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, and The Nutcracker by E.T.A. Hoffman. Each act brings a creative twist to these beloved tales, mixing humor, holiday spirit, and a touch of whimsy.
The Play’s Three Acts:
- All of the Other Reindeer: Blitzen is feeling the strain of always being the last reindeer on Santa’s team. His fellow reindeer—Cupid, Donder, and Prancer—offer their own quirky suggestions to help, but it’s Santa’s newest reindeer hire, Freud, who’s brought in to diagnose Blitzen’s “issues.” It’s ultimately Betty’s down-to-earth advice that brings a simple solution: someone else should take a turn being last!
- Bah! Humbug!: Marley’s Ghost arrives at Scrooge’s house, but he’s a century and a half too late! In this lighthearted twist on A Christmas Carol, the Spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Future try to set things right, but chaos ensues—especially when Tiny Tim appears as a football player!
- Nutcrackered: The final act follows E.T.A. Hoffman as he struggles with writer’s block. Enter Clara and her brother Fritz, who inspire him with a fantastical tale of a magical nutcracker, sparking the creation of the beloved holiday classic.
Performance Dates:
The production will take the stage at 7 p.m. on December 5-7, with a special 6 p.m. performance on December 8.
