The Watertown Players are holding open auditions for their staged reading of The Diary of Adam and Eve, a one-act comedy based on Mark Twain’s story and dramatized by Marc Bucci. In addition to this charming production, the show will feature a reading of Twain’s humorous short story Taming the Bicycle. Auditions will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at the Watertown Players Theater in Watertown, WI, with performances scheduled for November 15, 16, and 17.
Actors interested in auditioning must reserve their spot in advance and complete an audition form, available on the Watertown Players website. No prior acting experience is necessary, and roles are available for 2-4 men and 2-4 women, ages 18 and older. Multiple couples may be cast as Adam and Eve, and other roles include Serpent/Satan and Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain).
This production offers a unique opportunity, as actors will perform partially memorized lines with scripts in hand, allowing for a relaxed yet engaging performance. Rehearsals will be held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings, with direction by Lisa Steffl. For more details, email lisa@watertownplayers.org.
