Kids auditions in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Creative Greensboro is excited to announce auditions for its beloved annual performance series, Short Tales for Children, a program that brings together young performers, emerging playwrights, and aspiring theater educators.
Short Tales for Children is a unique collaboration between Creative Greensboro and the UNCG Theater Department.
Auditions:
Auditions will be held on Friday, December 13, from 6–8 p.m., and Saturday, December 14, at 2 p.m.
Auditions take place at the Stephen D. Hyers Theatre, located within the Greensboro Cultural Center at 200 N. Davie St. All children ages 7-15 are welcome to audition, and no prior experience is required. Every child who auditions will be cast in the show, ensuring an inclusive and supportive opportunity for young performers.
The performances are scheduled for February 1 and 2, 2025, in the Van Dyke Performance Space.
This year’s program will feature original short plays penned by Greensboro Playwrights Forum members and brought to life by students from UNCG’s School of Theater Education. Each production is directed by a theater education student from UNCG under the guidance of Creative Greensboro’s Performing Arts Coordinator Todd Fisher and UNCG Professor Joshua Purvis. This hands-on approach offers young actors a fun and engaging experience in theater, while college students gain practical experience in children’s theater education.
To participate, please visit Creative Greensboro’s website to register for an audition time. For additional questions, contact Todd Fisher at Todd.Fisher@greensboro-nc.gov or call 336-373-2974. Join us in making this year’s Short Tales for Children an unforgettable experience for everyone involved!
