Disney Open Auditions in Hawaii for Principal Dancer Roles

Open in-person auditions in Hawaii for Disney’s upcoming live action “Moana” movie.

Disney’s movie Moana is filming this summer and has been holding open auditions in Los Angeles.  The Disney movie will be filming much of the “Moana” in Hawaii and now the casting directors have announced open auditions in Hawaii for principal dancer roles that pay over $3k per week.

Disney auditions will be held shortly for trained dancers of all ages to play Pacific Islanders.  The open call will be taking place in Honolulu, Hawaii, shortly.

Auditions are open to strong dancers which have dance training or experience in Polynesian dance techniques.

Moana,” a Disney film, chronicles the journey of Moana Waialiki, a spirited young Polynesian girl. Determined to protect her island home and people, Moana embarks on a bold oceanic voyage, joined by the demigod Maui. Their journey is fraught with encounters with mythical creatures, daunting challenges, and the revelation of ancient truths. The film’s original soundtrack, featuring songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foa’i, and Mark Mancina, was a chart-topping success.

“Moana” stands as a timeless narrative of bravery, self-discovery, and the significance of embracing one’s culture and ancestry.

CASTING CALL:

WALT DISNEY Studios – HAWAI’I DANCE CALL for the Feature Film MOANA.

[DANCERS/VILLAGERS] Seeking talented dancers to portray villagers of all ages, any gender, with a Pacific Islander background. Applicants should be proficient and versatile in “Polynesian dance.” All ages are encouraged to audition, and specialists are welcome. STRONG DANCE SKILLS REQUIRED.

PAY RANGE: $3,105.00 – $3,725.00 per week.

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures is the producer/employer for this production and is signatory to the SAG-AFTRA collective bargaining agreement; therefore, SAG-AFTRA salary terms apply. The compensation offered for each role may vary based on factors such as engagement length, production location, budgetary considerations, and the actor’s experience and prominence.
