RUNAROUNDS – Wilmington, NC
Amazon has a new series coming out currently titled The Runarounds and it is loosely based on a Netflix show band that appeared in the Netflix series “Outer Banks.”
The new series is filming in Wilmington, North Carolina and they are casting locals to fill some small, paid roles. This comes from some of the people behind “Outer Banks” and the series episodes will also be filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina.
The streaming service recently greenlit an eight-episode, straight-to-series order for The Runarounds, a music drama that chronicles the journey of a post-high school band aiming for stardom. While The Runarounds is not a spinoff of Outer Banks, it features the same band previously seen in a Season Three episode of the hit young adult drama on Netflix.
According to THR, Outer Banks co-creator Jonas Pate is involved in the new show “The Runarounds” with a script by David Wilcox (Fringe). The series, inspired by the real band of the same name, stars William Lipton (General Hospital), Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock, and Jesse Golliher, alongside Lilah Pate and Kelley Pereira. Lilah Pate, daughter of creator Jonas Pate, has a recurring role in Outer Banks.
