About the Show:
Join us for Freaky Friday, a hilarious and heartfelt musical adaptation of the beloved novel and classic films. When teenager Ellie Blake and her mother, Katherine, swap bodies on the eve of Katherine’s wedding, they’re forced to spend an entire day living each other’s lives. Through this unexpected twist, they gain a new perspective on each other’s challenges and discover a stronger, more understanding bond. With laugh-out-loud moments and touching scenes, Freaky Friday is a vibrant family musical full of energy and heart.

Audition Details:
Dates: Tuesday, December 17 & Wednesday, December 18
Location: Ritz Theater, 201 Magnolia Avenue, Downtown Sanford
Director Theo Champagne seeks a diverse cast for teen and adult roles (ages 14+), as well as one or two young actors (ages 10-13, any gender) for the role of Fletcher. All backgrounds, identities, and abilities are encouraged to audition.
Auditions are scheduled in 30-minute group slots—please arrive at the beginning of your chosen time slot. Callbacks will be held Thursday, December 19, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Preparation:
Please prepare 16-32 bars of a song in the style of Freaky Friday (but not from the show). Bring a background track (no accompanist will be available). We will have a speaker, but you may bring your own. Bring a hard copy of your headshot and resume for the creative team.
Rehearsal & Performance Schedule:
Rehearsals will be held Monday-Thursday evenings, 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM, starting January 6, 2025. Tech week runs from February 24-27. Performances will run the last weekend of February and the first weekend of March, with a total of 8 shows.
